The Minnie Vans are the new transportation for the Walt Disney World property. The Minnie Vans are operated in the same manner as an Uber or Lyft, except it is operated by Cast Members. This is a new transportation service featuring the Chevy Traverse themed to the one-and-only Minnie Mouse. It is absolutely adorable and the name is genius!

“Since we’re all about exceeding guest expectations and making every aspect of your vacation uniquely Disney, we’re creating a new point-to-point transportation service in a way that only Disney can do,” Bob said.

How Does it Work?

The Minnie Van works just like if you are ordering an Uber or a Lyft. The Minnie Van is powered by Lyft. So, you will need to download the Lyft app on your smartphone. Then you will need to either visit the front desk of your resort to have the Minnie Van service activated thorough the  app or activate it yourself through the My Disney Experience.

Once you have activated the Minnie Van, you can request a Minnie Van just like if you were requesting a ride using Uber or Lyft. The vehicles will show up on the map with the time/price estimates.

The Minnie Van is still in its testing phase. For now, the Minnie Vans are only available at every Deluxe Walt Disney World resort. That means that you can request a Minnie Van from any Deluxe Walt Disney World resort and it can take you anywhere on Walt Disney World property. Disney’s next testing phase will be the Deluxe Villas and Disney Vacation Club resorts.

The Minnie Van service will be available between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 12:30 a.m. (hours are always subject to change).

Cost

The cost for each trip is a flat $20. However, I had some people tell me that when Disney World is very crowded, like during the holiday season, the cost of a Minnie Van is $25.

Seating

The Minnie Vans are really not vans at all. It is a Chevy Traverse “dressed” as Minnie Mouse. Each Minnie Vans has two child car seats available for guests. The Minnie Van can seat up to 6 guests. If you order an Uber or Lyft at the lowest tier, you can only sit 4 people. This is a big selling point for guests with large parties.

Destination

The Minnie Vans will take you everywhere you want to go on the Walt Disney World Resort. If you visit the parks, they will drop you off at the bus stop section. It is basically door to door service.

The Minnie Vans provide a top level service. The Minnie Vans are extremely clean and comfortable. You are getting safe and reliable service. In most cases, the price can be cheaper than taxis or ride sharing services.

Cons

The Minnie Vans are only available at every Deluxe Walt Disney World resort hotel. Disney’s next testing phase will be the Deluxe Villas and Disney Vacation Club resorts. The Minnie Vans will travel anywhere on Disney World property. You cannot ordered it ahead of time.

My Experience

When we went to Disney this summer, we did get the Minnie Van at Walt Disney World from Disney’s Beach Club Resort and we loved it. They are much prettier in person. The Cast Member (driver) was very knowledgeable and answered our Disney questions. It felt like we were on a VIP tour. The driver knew where he was going. The ride was smooth and enjoyable. It was well worth the $20.
